Education & Training Grant Program

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING GRANT SUMMARY

  • In Act 258 of 2015, the Legislature gave the Motor Vehicle Commission the authority to award up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00) in grants to secondary and post-secondary institutions in Arkansas.
     
    The maximum amount awarded per proposal is thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00). This amount may be less at the discretion of the Commission.
  • The purpose of this grant is to provide funds to assist institutions that offer education and training, primarily in the field of vehicle service and maintenance, in improving their training programs with the goal of growing the available workforce for the future. 
  • Only motor vehicle related programs and coalitions of such programs will be approved for grant funding. The list of programs includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Automotive
    • Collision Repair
    • Diesel
    • Alternative Fuels
    • Damage Analysis and Estimation
    • Engine Machinist
    • Parts Specialist
    • Tire Center Operator
  • Submission proposal deadline is January 12, 2017. All incomplete applications will be returned to the program contact person and must be resubmitted before the deadline date.
